What is CHIRON-Eco?


CHIRON-ECO is a nanotechnology photocatalyst coating that can be used in construction, automotive, schools, hospitals, nursing homes, hotels, food processing plants, water treatment plants, industrial plants, offices, smoking room, Karaoke, other public facilities and home.

It is a proven technology that were discovered by Akira Fujishima in 1967 and published in 1972 and widely being used since. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Titanium_dioxide)

The process is called the ‘Photocatalystic Reaction’ where nanosized titanium dioxide TiO2 are subjected to sunlight or room light, the electronic (e-) on the valence band can be excited transition to the conduction band and brought corresponding hole (h +) on the valence band, generating active oxygen and hydroxyl radical with high oxidation which can make harmful organics compounds i.e., formaldehyde, benzene, xylene, ammonia, and dangerous pathogens i.e., viruses, bacteria, microorganism, pollutants odour, decomposed into harmless CO2 and H2O.

Application examples:

1. Removing Mold

 

Mold can be easily prevented at damp places as the photocatalyst can repeatedly interact with the fungi and prevent it from growing at the surface.

2. Deodorization

Various odours that are occurred during daily activities can become unpleasant when absorbed by walls, curtains and furniture. The photocatalyst repeatedly breaks down and eliminates such odours so that odour accumulation is suppressed.

3. Sterilization

The photocatalyst is capable of eliminating bacteria and viruses i.e., coliform bacteria, staph aureus, bird flu H1N1 and norovirus and it can even break down dead bacteria and make it harmless.

4. Air Purification

Toxic volatile organic compounds (VOC) that can may have short- and long-term adverse health effects can be easily broken down and become harmless, which can improve the air quality inside the house.
